Teddy is a tiny little unique Yorkie that is a beautiful soul. He is just hitting the 4 pound mark after a long hard life as a breeder dog. Teddy was turned into a kill shelter along with at least 10 others like him. He had rotted teeth and a broken jaw due to poor care. He eats just fine even without teeth however and his jaw works well so there is no need to do anything to fix it or we would have. His tongue hangs slightly out the side of his mouth which makes him even more lovable. Teddy came to us terrified and seemed to not have had socialization of any type. He literally fell to his belly if he even thought someone would touch him. Now Teddy actually loves to snuggle and he will come to people for attention although sometimes you need to move closer to pick him up. He probably will not ever get housebreaking fully as he clearly wasn't taught. Being a male we have used a belly band with a poise pad for Teddy and baby wipes when needed. He does great with that. Teddy had a trachea issue which he has medication for but he coughs on and off and most of the time we feel the medication isn't doing much. He also has terrible patellas (knees) but they have been that way for too long to help him and it doesn't seem to bother him. He will not jump off furniture thankfully because that could break his bones so his family would have to be very cautious to never leave him on a sofa or bed alone. One meeting and you will fall in love. Teddy is otherwise healthy. He has had all the vet care he needs until his next well check up. E-mail or send application to firstname.lastname@example.org. Teddy will only be adopted local on Long Island and whoever adopts him can have free pet sitting for him by his foster Mom if they go away.

Tyson came from the NYC animal shelter. Our vet guessed he is probably 8 or 9 years old We are super confused because they said he is 15 but there is pretty much NO WAY. Our vet said he can be as young as 8 and that if he was 15 that he is the best looking dog for his age EVER. His teeth are amazingly clean and could pass for 8 easily. His eyes have minimal change for an aging dog. Just had a dental in June 2017. He is pretty active too. I'd have to say we are honest so that is why I am putting the 15 part. He loves to snuggle. He loves walks. He doesn't like when you put a harness on him. He startles a little easily so we would like adult home for him. Write questions to email@example.com Long Island adoptions only Home check, vet check and references needed. Fine with dogs but couldn't care to have them around. Cats unknown Does like children but being he startles easy we won't adopt to a home that has them living there. Visiting children are fine.

Coco is perfection in so many ways. She has the most beautiful personality and lots of love to give. She is a 1o year old shih Tzu poodle mix. Coco is great with everyone including dogs and children. Cats are not known as far as living together however. Coco has health issues which her new family will have to know about. Coco is diabetic and until we took her in the family didn't buy her insulin which the vet recommended she needed to lead a healthy life. We have now put her on the medication and she is doing well. Coco has dental disease and she ill be having a full dental. She also had mammary tumors which we had removed and we are super happy to say they were not cancerous. She was spayed at the time of surgery as well. Within a few weeks Coco will be ready for a family of her own. Insulin shots are very easy for most dogs. She is good for them and as she trusts her care taker the insulin injections after her meals becomes part of a routine. She is so easy going. We are checking her from head to toe. We will share her complete history with her potential adopters. Long Island adopter only. Newbeginningresq@aol.com for more info

Minnie is a min pin who is completely blind and who came to us from the local shelter here on Long Island. She came very overweight and has taken off some weight but is not ever going to be a slim girl. She suffers from some arthritic issues and takes supplements for this. Minnie has had her eyes tested for many different issues and fortunately her eye care is under control with several different medications that are a little costly. She is a quirky girl with a big heart and a big personality which is basically sweet. She would love to be your lap dog although she will try to be independent if forced to do so. She manages to get around but she will give it a shot to make you help her and to act like she cannot find her way. She would do best in a home that is a ranch with an easily accessible yard and with older children or adults only due to her inability to see. A noisy home would most likely not be a good match. She needs someone who is home almost full time due to her age and physical problems. Must be over 21 and live on Long Island to adopt. This dog must have a yard. Apply to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Bruiser is an 11 year old Min Pin who is very friendly and also active. He has a lot of spunk in him for his age. He does have some arthritis and is on supplements for this along with arthritis pain medication for the bad days. Bruiser came to us from a couple who went into assisted living and the family could not keep the dog due to allergies and other living arrangement issues. He is a nice boy but is quirky with some of his own personality. He likes other dogs and he is said to like cats although we have not seen him with them. Bruiser is housebroken and he will let you know when he needs to go out. He would do best in a quiet home and would be a wonderful senior companion. Bruiser would like a home with no stairs due to his legs. This would make his life a lot easier. Must be 21 or over to adopt. References including vet reference when available is necessary. Bruiser is up to date on vaccines, micro-chipped and neutered. Please be local to Long Island as a home check is necessary.
